What We Do
Our task is to provide free and affordable legal help to victims of human rights violations in the countries that participate in the European Convention on Human Rights.
We support the following projects:
Human Rights Guide
This project consists of a site dedicated to legal analysis of the European Convention on Human Rights and Case-Law of the European Court of Human Rights.
Aim of the project: to help general public and lawyers to quickly find the necessary legal information about human rights.
The Human Right Guide is going to become a unique Internet resource that will have the following characteristics:
1. The site will be dedicated to legal analysis of the European Convention on Human Rights and Case-Law of the European Court of Human Rights.
2. The potential users will include 3 categories:
- General public (non-lawyers)
- General lawyers (non-human-rights lawyers)
- Human rights lawyers
3. The site will be easy to use. Clear language, diagrams, tables and examples will be used thoroughly.
Browsing and navigation will be done in a convenient way. Advanced search tools will help to quickly find needed information.
4. The site is going to be updated on a regular basis. Every change in the legislation and important changes in the case-law will cause quick updates of the site.
5. The site will be in all European languages.
Leading specialists on the human rights law from different countries will participate in the process of creation of this site.
You will be able to monitor the development of this project on the site www.HumanRightsGuide.org.
The Russian Law On Line For Everyone
While human rights have improved in Russia during last 20 years, many concerns remain. Tortures during investigation, unfair trials, violence in army and prisons are just some of them.
The second project we support is a creation of a unique on line information system in Russian. Its working title is "The Russian Law On Line For Everyone" (Популярный юридический справочник). You can follow the development of this system at www.sabelnikov.com/ref/.
The uniqueness of the system is that it will combine three important characteristics:
1. The system will be created for general public use.
Simple language will be used. Legal terms, when can not be avoided, will be explained in a convenient way. The access to the system will be free and unrestricted. Diagrams, tables, examples will be used intensively. Convenient browsing tools, keyword and phrase search tools will help to quickly locate necessary information.
2. The system will be updated after every change in the legislation.
The lawyers that create this system will constantly follow all changes in the legislation to keep the system always up to date.
3. The system will cover all main branches of Russian law.
Currently there is no information system available in the Internet that has all these three very important characteristics.
